What is the dress code?

The dress code for our riverside celebration is semi-formal (coat and tie). Gentlemen are encouraged to wear a suit or blazer with dress trousers and a tie. Tea-length, midi, or maxi cocktail dresses, tailored pantsuits, and elegant jumpsuits are all lovely options. As the reception will be held outdoors, we recommend shoes that are suitable for walking on the lawn.

Are children invited?

We kindly request that you arrange for a child-free evening so everyone can fully relax and enjoy the celebration with us.

Are you registered at any local shops?

Yes! We’re registered at Hampton House, and local friends and family are welcome to visit the store at 310 Libbie Ave. We also have online registries for Weezie (password: wiley), Williams Sonoma and Amazon linked on the Registry page.

Where will the celebrations take place?

Due to the small size of Christ Church—fondly known as 'the little red church down the lane'—the wedding ceremony will be a private service for immediate family only. Family members invited to the ceremony will receive all details with their formal invitation. The reception will be held afterward at our family home, Riverlawn, with cocktail hour beginning at 5:30 PM. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating with everyone there.

Will there be transportation to the wedding reception?

Yes! We encourage all overnight guests — regardless of hotel accommodations — to utilize the round-trip shuttle service. Shuttles to Riverlawn depart from the Chesapeake Inn (Urbanna) at 4:30 PM and from the Hampton Inn (Gloucester) at 4:40 PM. Return shuttles to both hotels depart Riverlawn at 9:30 PM (early departure) and 11:00 PM (at the conclusion of the reception). Please note that rideshare services are not reliably available in Mathews.
